چکیده
Particle physics results of constant value and significant impact have been obtained at PSI, several efforts are presently ongoing expected to deliver new findings in the near future. In this special SciPost volume we collect them together a concise manner. Not yet included ideas for future facility upgrades or completely experimental efforts, but set extend years come.

Particle Physics at Future Colliders
The search for physics beyond the Standard Model motivates new high-energy accelerators, which will require high luminosities in order to produce interesting new heavy particles. Using the Higgs boson and supersymmetry as examples, we discuss the capabilities of the LHC and ee linear colliders in the TeV and multi-TeV energy ranges to discover and study new particles. CERN-TH/2002-292 hep-ex/02...

In 1995 the Physik-Institut of the University of Z urich joined the CMS collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider. We participate (i) in the development and construction of the barrel silicon pixel detector (design of the pixels and readout chips and construction of the support structure and cooling system) and (ii) in the design and development of microstrip gas chambers (MSGC). The CMS pixel...
متن کاملParticle Physics Opportunities at μ + μ − Colliders
We discuss the capabilities of future muon col-liders to resolve important particle physics questions. A collider with c.m. energy √ s = 100 to 500 GeV offers the unique opportunity to produce Higgs bosons in the s-channel and thereby measure the Higgs masses, total widths and several partial widths to high precision. At this same machine, tt and W + W − threshold studies would yield superior p...
متن کاملPionic Hydrogen at Psi
The measurement of the pion–nucleon scattering lengths constitutes a high–precision test of the methods of Chiral Pertubation Theory (χPT), which is the low–energy approach of QCD. The πN s–wave scattering lengths are related to the strong–interaction shift ǫ1s and width Γ1s of the s–states of the pionic hydrogen atom. ǫ1s and Γ1s are determined from the measured energies and line widths of X–r...
